Caddis larvae are very familiar aquatic insects but only a few of the 198 British and Irish species feature in popular guides. The challenge for this AIDGAP identification guide was to produce keys that use features visible with a x10 hand lens, and enable identification to some level of accuracy for any caddis larva collected in the British Isles.
Like all other AIDGAP keys, this guide was extensively tested during preparation; this, the first published edition, has been produced in light of feedback from testers.
